The World’s The Limit For Fusion Electronics

The world’s the limit for Fusion Electronics

Inspired by the founders’ passion for cars, music and street music, Fusion Electronics now sells high-quality audio products in more than 30 countries.

As they were gearing up for global expansion, they were looking for a reliable language partner – and Lingo24 was ready for the challenge. The New Zealand-based electronics company was set up in 1998 as a car audio brand. With its mission “Make some noise” it now sells a wide range of innovative products, including speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, marine audio equipment and accessories.

Fusion Electronics has grown steadily, and now has subsidiaries in the UK, USA and Australia, using its strength in product design to expand into new markets.

It was looking to translate its marketing materials, instruction manuals and other content into a number of European languages.

We were keen to help them make some noise on a global scale. Fusion has a unique brand style and tone of voice, so it was important to reflect this in other languages. At the same time, they often use very technical terms, describing the specifications and features of each model in depth.

Since they didn’t have a glossary of terms at first, we offered to build one from scratch, incorporating it into each succeeding project to ensure their preferred terminology is used.

We selected dedicated translation teams for each language combination, with expertise in electronics and marketing translations. Once files have been translated, our desktop publishing artists ensure that the final ones mirror the design of the original content. Then these can be reviewed by Fusion’s locally based staff.

Not surprisingly for a brand that’s all about cars and street culture, things move fast at Fusion. They often have very tight deadlines – sometimes as little as 24 hours. When it comes to large orders with very tight turnaround times, we can scale up our operations to meet their deadlines. Our software makes it easy to split a source file between two or more translators, with a single proofreader to ensure consistency.

And of course, we always keep our client up-to-date on the status of each project. During the review process, our translators are on stand-by, so they can quickly make any required amendments to the translated files.

Fusion Electronics has been impressed by our speed and ability to deliver within the agreed deadlines. They are also pleased that we keep them in the loop on progress, and anticipate their requirements in advance so that their dedicated translators are available.

We’re delighted to have built up a successful partnership, and hope to continue working together as they grow their business.
