Jack of all Trades…Another Quiz Night to Remember!

Well, Lingo24’s Operations Director Jack Waley-Cohen produced another one of his legendary quizzes at Timisoara’s Casa Romaneasca last Wednesday evening.

Following a few short presentations by some of our key personnel, including founder and CEO Christian Arno, everybody tucked into a veritable medley of fine food and just a little wine.

But the quiz was easily the evening’s star attraction, giving everyone the chance to put their general knowledge and problem solving skills into practice. And it was a close call for the duration, with no single team looking like they would be the eventual winners.

And that is how it proved to be, with 4 teams sitting on the same points at the end of the final round. But where there’s a quiz, there has to be a winner.

Each of the four teams nominated a member to enter the tie-breaker round to decide the ultimate victor. Edina from team ‘Adesa’, Carmen from ‘The Waves’, Anca from ‘Sexy Beast’ and Paul from ‘Team-isoara’ were the four contestants and the first one to answer two questions correct would emerge as champions.

The sublime and imaginatively named ‘Team-isoara’ walked away victorious. Team-isoara’s Paul correctly called the answer to “who sang the song ‘Barbie Girl'”, thus outing himself as a massive ‘Aqua’ fan in the process; but it was worth it for the ace chocolates on offer to the winning team of brain-boxes – Camelia, Dorina, Paul, Anca, Ana and Claudia.

Finally, it’s worth noting that everyone had a fantastic night. A special mention must go out to Edina who made the night happen with her exemplary organisation skills…. And, of course, to Jack for another excellent quiz. We really should do this more often.
