How Unbabel and Lingo24 are aligned

As I’ve gotten to know the Unbabel team over the past few months, I’ve seen first hand how our organisations are a good fit, both from an offerings and cultural perspective.

Our core offerings are complementary: at Lingo24 we’ve got a wealth of experience in delivering high-quality, multi-format, multilingual content at scale, which marries well with Unbabel’s unparalleled AI capabilities.

Our companies’ views on where the future of translation lies are aligned, embracing the innovation that AI brings to better connect people across different languages and cultures.

The vision of ‘building the world’s translation layer’ is future focused and compelling. It’s about harnessing the power of AI and humans together to enable global companies to work with language in a more strategic way, unlocking more growth as they scale internationally.

And I’m further encouraged by our shared ethos of doing what is right for our customers, helping them achieve their specific goals. This has been a key pillar of how we operate at Lingo24, and I look forward to being part of a larger combined organisation that retains a strong focus on how we best serve our customers.

Some personal reflections

There’s no doubt that nine years is a long time to spend working in one organisation, and I can’t understate what an important chapter Lingo24 has been in my life.

To all of my colleagues at Lingo24. It’s been a pleasure working alongside a truly global team based in Romania, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Panama and the UK. Working so closely with you every day and learning more about your cultures, I’ve seen how the similarities we share, as well as our differences, have made this such a rich, diverse and rewarding work environment.

Your deep expertise and commitment to doing the right thing for our customers have always ensured we keep the business heading in the right direction. I’ve been consistently impressed by the commitment and quality of people working across all of Lingo24.

To all of our Lingo24 customers, I am excited to continue to support you and work alongside you as we take the next step on this path together. This merger will give us the opportunity to augment the services and technology solutions we already offer you and ensure your business is able to benefit from the power that AI and technology bring to localization.

To our community of translators we look forward to you being as important a part of our new future, as you have been to our journey so far. Your expertise will play an important role in ensuring our customers continue to put their trust in us to handle their precious content and be the voice of their brand across all of their global markets.

I also want to thank our investors for their support on this stage of our journey. We could not have done it without you.

Looking to the future – a new door opens

There is no doubt in my mind that the new joint organisation will have a real impact on our industry and be a phenomenal success. I’m excited to be part of it.

But our immediate focus needs to be on ensuring the integration builds on the outstanding talents, experience and capabilities that exist in the two parties. I am committed to making this a success, and having been through a number of business integrations in the past look forward to bringing this experience to bear during the coming period.

There is much work to be done, but I am so looking forward to working with the leadership team at Unbabel, building and then executing on the exciting plans for our new joint organisation.
